What are the complications after lower eyelid tightening surgery?

There may be some symptoms after surgery, which are normal and temporary in most cases and last for up to two weeks. Some cases may take longer to heal completely.
Mild pain or discomfort
Feeling of pain or mild pressure around the eye. This can be managed with prescribed pain relievers.
Temporary blurred vision
You may experience blurred vision due to swelling or the use of ointments, which resolves within a few days.
Dryness or irritation of the eye after surgery
You may feel dryness, burning, or irritation in the eye, which gradually goes away.
Swelling and bruising
Swelling and puffiness around the eye, along with mild to moderate bruising. It resolves within 7-14 days.
Scars
The appearance of mild scars at the surgical incision site. With proper care, they become almost unnoticeable.
Numbness or tingling
You may feel mild tingling or numbness around the lower eyelid, which gradually disappears over a few weeks.
Temporary asymmetry
results may appear uneven at first due to swelling, but they improve with healing.
Mild bleeding
Mild bleeding or slight blood-tinged discharge may occur in the first few days after surgery.
Important information
In very rare cases, complications such as infection, fluid accumulation, or an effect on eyelid movement may occur. Carefully following the doctor's instructions and attending regular follow-up appointments significantly helps reduce the likelihood of these complications and ensures the best possible results.
